NOVAL PERIS TO SPEAK AT IWD 2023
The Equal Futures Project hosts inspirational speakers who are committed to improving the world, and making our communities more equitable and inclusive.
We are very excited to announce Nova Peris, OAM as the keynote speaker for our 12th annual International Women's Day breakfast on Friday, 3 March 2023 at NEX - Wests Newcastle.
Australia’s ‘lady of firsts', Nova was the first Aboriginal woman elected to Federal Parliament and the first Aboriginal Australian to win an Olympic Gold Medal. In 2020 she established the Nova Peris Foundation to support communities to be self-determining. She was recently honoured with a statue in Melbourne’s Federation Square, designed and sculpted by internationally renowned artists Gillie and Marc as part of their ‘Statues for Equality’ project.
Profits from the event will go to our 2023 charity partner(s). EOIs are open until 6 February. (See further information below).

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN FOR IWD 2023 CHARITY PARTNERS
An important aspect of our IWD breakfast each year has been the opportunity to partner with local charities, with over $200,000 distributed over eleven years thanks to the strong support for this event.
Expressions of Interest from local charities are now open, and close 4pm on 6 February 2023.

Our 12th annual International Women's Day breakfast will be held on Friday, 3 March 2023 at NEX - Wests Newcastle. We are very excited to announce our keynote speaker is Nova Peris, OAM.
Olympic gold medalist and former Senator Nova Peris is locked in as our keynote speaker. Australia’s ‘lady of firsts’ , Nova was the first Aboriginal woman elected to Federal Parliament and the first Aboriginal Australian to win an Olympic Gold Medal. In 2020 she established the Nova Peris Foundation to support communities to be self-determining.
Tickets open 30 January. VIP and corporate tables, as well as individual, not-for-profit and student tickets will be available.

PAST EVENTS
Former Australian of the Year, Grace Tame, launched our inaugural Keynote Series in September 2022. Grace is an inspiring young Australian who has spent the last 10 years turning her traumatic experience into advocacy for survivors of child sexual assault and a leader of positive change.
In 2022 she release The Ninth Life of a Diamond Miner - Grace's story in her words. As with all her work, the book offers a constructive and optimistic vision for a better future for all of us.
Our 10th annual International Women's Day breakfast on 6 March 2020 featured Prof. Kerryn Phelps, AM (appearing by arrangement with Claxton Speakers International). Dr Phelps presented the keynote address to a packed auditorium of over 560 people.
