AUSTRALIA'S ‘LADY OF FIRSTS' NOVA PERIS TO SPEAK AT IWD BREAKFAST
Equal Futures Project is known for hosting inspirational speakers who are committed to improving the world, and making our communities more equitable and inclusive.
We are very excited to announce Nova Peris, OAM as the keynote speaker for our 12th annual International Women's Day breakfast on Friday, 3 March 2023 at NEX - Wests Newcastle.
Australia’s ‘lady of firsts', Nova was the first Aboriginal woman elected to Federal Parliament and the first Aboriginal Australian to win an Olympic Gold Medal. In 2020 she established the Nova Peris Foundation to support communities to be self-determining. She was recently honoured with a statue in Melbourne’s Federation Square, designed and sculpted by internationally renowned artists Gillie and Marc as part of their ‘Statues for Equality’ project.
The event will also support three local charities - Prelude Australia, Splash of Colour Swimming and Carrie’s Place – who will share in the proceeds from the event. Thank you to all the other fantastic local charities who also responded to our EOI.
Auslan Interpreters will also be present, ensuring the event is accessible to hearing impaired guests.
Online bookings are open. Limited VIP tables, as well as individual, tables of ten, not-for-profit and student tickets available.
Thank you to our Event Partner Port Waratah Coal Service for their ongoing support.
If you have any questions please contact us.
